Common issues when connecting Instagram and Facebook

Meta/Facebook has strict requirements for linking your Instagram and Facebook accounts. Additionally, your Facebook settings play a crucial role in connecting your Instagram accounts to Viraly, even if you don’t intend to link your Facebook Page with Viraly.

Here are the key settings that must be configured to successfully connect your Instagram or Facebook Page to Viraly:

✅ Your Instagram account must be set to either a Business or Creator Profile.

✅ Instagram must be linked to its own Facebook Page (Personal Profiles and Professional Profiles are not supported).

✅ The Page must be connected by an Admin who has “full control.”

✅ All permissions for all Pages and Instagram accounts must be selected (this applies even for accounts that aren’t being linked to Viraly).

Common issues you might encounter:

• If you’re unable to find the correct Instagram account or see the error message: “No channels found” you’ll need to go to Facebook and update the permissions to allow everything.
• If you don’t have a Facebook Page linked to Instagram, Meta requires one for the Instagram account to be connected to Viraly. You’ll need to create a Facebook Page and link it to your Instagram account.
