The Content Recycler automatically reposts your content at scheduled intervals, extending the reach and lifespan of your posts. This guide covers all features and functionality of the Content Recycler tool.

Table of Contents

Enabling Content Recycling

The Content Recycler is available when creating or editing a post. Look for the Recycle badge in the post composer interface.

To enable recycling:

  1. Locate the Recycle badge in your post composer
  2. Toggle the switch to the ON position (green)
  3. The recycling settings dialog will automatically open
  4. Configure your recycling preferences
  5. Click Save to apply the settings

Note: Recycling can be enabled on both scheduled posts and already-published posts.

Recycling Intervals

You can choose between two recycling modes: fixed intervals or custom dates.

Fixed Intervals

Select from predefined recycling frequencies:

  • Every 30 days – Monthly recycling
  • Every 60 days – Bi-monthly recycling
  • Every 90 days – Quarterly recycling
  • Every 6 months – Semi-annual recycling
  • Every year – Annual recycling

When using fixed intervals, the system automatically calculates future recycle dates based on the original post’s scheduled date.

Custom Dates Mode

For complete control over your recycling schedule, select “Custom Dates” from the interval dropdown.

Custom dates features:

  • Add unlimited custom dates using the date/time picker
  • Each date respects your selected timezone
  • Dates must be at least 7 days apart
  • Remove dates individually using the trash icon
  • Dates are automatically sorted chronologically

Validation: The system will prevent saving if custom dates are less than 7 days apart or if no dates are specified.

Maximum Recycle Limits

Set the maximum number of times your content should be recycled to prevent over-posting and audience fatigue.

Available options:

  • 1 to 10 recycles (specific counts)
  • 10+ for unlimited recycling

When the maximum recycle count is reached, the series automatically stops and no further posts are scheduled.

Content Variations

Create multiple caption variations to keep your recycled content fresh and avoid posting identical content repeatedly.

How Variations Work

  • Add up to multiple caption variations
  • The system rotates through variations sequentially with each recycle
  • If no variations are provided, the original post caption is reused
  • Empty variations are automatically filtered out when saving
  • Each variation can include hashtags, mentions, and formatting

Adding Variations

  1. Click “Add Variation” in the recycling settings dialog
  2. Enter your alternative caption text
  3. Repeat to add more variations
  4. Remove unwanted variations using the trash icon

AI Generated Variations

You have the option to either manually add your variations or use the AI caption generator.

  1. Click on the Generate With AI button.
  2. Choose your caption settings.
  3. Click Generate Variations button.

4. Review the variations and make any needed edits. Then, click Use These Variations when your satisfied.

5. That’s it! Click Save to enable the Recycling for this post.

Platform-Specific Behavior

Content recycling is platform-aware and automatically handles different social networks appropriately.

Supported platforms: Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, WordPress, Shopify.

Excluded platforms: YouTube, TikTok.

Managing Recycling Series

Once recycling is enabled on a post, it becomes a “recycling series” that can be managed independently.

Series States

A recycling series can be in one of three states:

  • Active: Green badge, recycling is enabled and posts are being scheduled
  • Paused: Gray badge with “Paused” label, series exists but no new posts are scheduled
  • Disabled: Gray badge, recycling is turned off

Pausing and Resuming

Pausing a Series

To pause an active recycling series:

  1. Navigate to the Recycled Content page
  2. Locate your recycling series
  3. Click the Pause button

When paused:

  • No new recycles are scheduled
  • Existing scheduled posts remain in the queue
  • All settings are preserved
  • The series badge displays “Paused” status

Resuming a Series

To resume a paused series:

  1. Open the post with the paused recycling series
  2. Click the Edit button on the Recycle badge
  3. In the dialog, click “Resume Recycling”

When resumed:

  • The series is marked as active
  • Next recycle dates are recalculated
  • Future posts are rescheduled based on current settings

Important: You must resume a paused series before you can edit its settings. This prevents configuration conflicts.

Recycled Content Page

The Recycled Content page provides a centralized view of all your recycling series.

Features

  • Series Overview: See all active and paused recycling series at a glance
  • Status Indicators: Quick visual indication of active vs. paused series
  • Progress Tracking: View recycle count (e.g., “3/5 recycled”)
  • Next Recycle Date: See when the next instance will post
  • Quick Actions: Edit or pause series directly from the list
  • Filtering: Filter by status, platform, or social profile
  • Search: Find specific series by caption or keyword

Accessing Recycled Content

Navigate to: Scheduler → Recycled Content in the main navigation menu.

Editing Existing Series

When editing a post that has an active or paused recycling series, the interface changes to prevent conflicts.

Edit Series Link

Instead of the toggle switch, you’ll see an “Edit Series” link that:

  • Opens the Recycled Content page in a new tab
  • Automatically scrolls to and highlights the specific series
  • Allows you to edit settings in the proper context

This design ensures you’re always editing the series configuration rather than accidentally creating a duplicate or conflicting schedule.

Updating Series Settings

When you update a recycling series:

  1. Existing future scheduled posts are deleted
  2. The schedule is recalculated based on new settings
  3. Fresh post records are created with updated configuration
  4. Already-published recycles are not affected
