How to Connect Your LinkedIn Profile or Page

Updated January 14, 2026

Connect your LinkedIn personal profile or company page to Viraly to schedule posts, engage with your professional network, and track your content performance. This guide covers connecting both profile types.

Before You Connect

Before connecting your LinkedIn account to Viraly, make sure you:

  • Are logged into LinkedIn — Viraly connects to the account currently logged in on your browser
  • Have admin access for Pages — To connect a LinkedIn Company Page, you must have admin permissions for that page
  • Have a Viraly account — You need an active Viraly subscription

Connection Steps

Step 1: Open My Social Sets

From your Viraly dashboard, navigate to My Social Sets in the top-right user dropdown menu. Click on the social set where you want to add your LinkedIn page or profile, or create a new social set.

Step 2: Add a LinkedIn Social Profile

Click the + New Social Profile link from the left navigation and select LinkedIn from the list of available platforms.

Step 3: Review Connection Information

An information dialog will appear explaining the connection process:

  • You can connect multiple LinkedIn Pages and personal Profiles
  • Log in to the account that has access to the pages you want to connect
  • Viraly connects to the account currently logged in on your browser
  • Admin permissions are required for LinkedIn Pages

Click Authenticate with LinkedIn to proceed.

Step 4: Authorize on LinkedIn

You’ll be redirected to LinkedIn’s authorization page. If you’re not already logged in, you’ll be prompted to log in first.

On the authorization page, you’ll see the permissions Viraly is requesting:

  • View your basic profile information
  • Post content on your behalf (both personal and company pages)
  • Access organization data for pages you administer
  • Read and write to your social feed

Click Allow to grant Viraly access.

Step 5: Select Your Profiles

After authorization, you’ll see the account picker showing all available LinkedIn profiles:

  • Your personal profile — Listed as “LinkedIn Member”
  • Company pages you administer — Listed as “LinkedIn Organization”

Select one or more profiles to connect. You can connect both your personal profile and company pages in a single session.

Click Connect to complete the connection.

Step 6: Connection Complete

Your LinkedIn profiles are now connected! You’ll be returned to your social set where you can see the newly connected profiles.

Personal Profiles vs Company Pages

LinkedIn offers two types of presences, and Viraly supports both:

LinkedIn Member (Personal Profile)

  • Your individual professional profile
  • Posts appear in your personal feed
  • Connected with your personal LinkedIn connections
  • Shows as “LinkedIn Member” in Viraly

LinkedIn Organization (Company Page)

  • Your company or organization’s page
  • Posts appear on the company page feed
  • Reaches page followers and company audience
  • Requires admin permissions to connect
  • Shows as “LinkedIn Organization” in Viraly

After Connecting

Once your LinkedIn profile or page is connected, you can:

  • Schedule posts — Create and schedule posts for future publishing
  • Share updates — Post text, images, videos, and documents
  • Add first comments — Include a first comment with your posts
  • View analytics — (Only for LinkedIn Pages) Track engagement, impressions, and follower growth

LinkedIn Post Features

When creating posts for LinkedIn, you have access to:

  • Text posts — Professional updates and thoughts
  • Images — Single or multiple images
  • Videos — Native video uploads
  • Documents — PDF documents and presentations
  • Links — URLs with preview cards
  • First comment — Add a first comment automatically

Managing Connected Profiles

Connecting Additional Profiles

To connect more LinkedIn profiles or pages:

  1. If connecting a page from a different LinkedIn account, log out and log into that account first
  2. Return to Viraly and repeat the connection steps
  3. Select the additional profiles or pages you want to connect

Viewing Profile Status

Go to Social Sets to see all your connected LinkedIn profiles. Each profile shows its connection status and account type (Member or Organization).

Refreshing Connection

LinkedIn may periodically expire the access tokens due to security reasons. If your connection expires, you’ll see a notification to reconnect. Click the profile and select Reconnect to re-authorize.

Disconnecting a Profile

To remove a LinkedIn profile from Viraly:

  1. Go to My Social Sets
  2. Click on the social set containing the profile
  3. Click the three-dot menu on the LinkedIn profile
  4. Select Disconnect Profile
  5. Confirm the removal

Note: Disconnecting a profile will cancel any scheduled posts for that profile.

Troubleshooting

Company Page Not Appearing

If your company page doesn’t appear in the account picker:

  • Check admin access — You must be an admin of the LinkedIn Page (not just an employee)
  • Verify page status — Ensure the page is active and not restricted
  • Try a different account — Log into the LinkedIn account that has admin access to the page

Connection Failed

If the connection fails:

  • Check your LinkedIn login — Ensure you’re logged into the correct account
  • Grant all permissions — Accept all requested permissions on LinkedIn
  • Try a private window — Browser extensions can interfere. Try a private/incognito window
  • Clear browser cache — Clear cookies and cache, then try again

Account Shows as Unavailable

If your LinkedIn page or profile shows as “Unavailable” in the account picker, it means the page or profile is already connected to either this or another Viraly account. Each LinkedIn page or profile can only be connected to one Viraly account.
See our detailed guide: Why is my social profile listed as “Unavailable”?

First Comment Not Working

The first comment feature requires specific LinkedIn permissions. If first comments aren’t posting:

  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the profile to refresh permissions
  • Ensure you granted all requested permissions during authorization
