Save time by duplicating existing posts. The duplicate feature copies your caption, media, and settings to a new post that you can modify and schedule independently—perfect for repurposing content or creating similar posts.
How to Duplicate a Post
To create a copy of an existing post:
- Find the post you want to duplicate in the calendar or list view
- Click the dropdown menu (chevron or three dots)
- Select Duplicate (document icon)
- The post composer opens with all content pre-filled
- Make any desired changes
- Choose Schedule, Save as Draft, or Publish Now

Duplicate from Any Status
You can duplicate posts regardless of their status:
- Drafts: Create variations of unpublished content
- Scheduled: Copy content to different dates
- Published: Recreate successful posts
- Failed: Try again with modifications
What Gets Duplicated
When you duplicate a post, the following are copied to the new post:
Content
- Caption/message text (platform-specific versions)
- Hashtags and mentions
- Link metadata
Media
- All attached images
- All attached videos
- Media order (for carousels)
- Alt text for accessibility
Platform Settings
- Post type (feed post, story, reel, etc.)
- First comment text and settings
- Privacy settings (TikTok, YouTube)
- Made for kids setting (YouTube)
- Video category and tags (YouTube)
- Duet/stitch settings (TikTok)
- Sensitive content flags (Mastodon)
Organization
- Categories/tags assigned to the post
- Target channel (pre-selected)
What Doesn’t Get Duplicated
Some elements are intentionally not copied to prevent conflicts:
Schedule Time
The duplicate gets a default time of tomorrow at 9:00 AM in your Social Set’s timezone. This prevents accidental duplicate publishing at the same time.
Status
The duplicate starts as a new, unsaved post. You choose whether to schedule it, save as draft, or publish.
Other Elements Not Copied
- Approval requests and status
- Evergreen/recycle settings
- Post ID and metadata
- Analytics data
- Published URLs
- Video thumbnails (you’ll need to re-select)
- Pinterest board selection (resets to none)
After Duplicating
When the composer opens with your duplicated content:
Review and Modify
- Update the caption for freshness
- Change hashtags if needed
- Adjust media or add new images/videos
- Modify platform-specific settings
Set Schedule
- Choose a new date and time
- The default is tomorrow at 9:00 AM
- Or add to your queue for automatic scheduling
Add Channels
By default, the same channel is selected. You can:
- Keep the same channel for repeat posting
- Add different channels to cross-post
- Remove the original channel to post elsewhere
Save Options
- Schedule Post: Set specific date/time
- Add to Queue: Use your queue’s time slots
- Save as Draft: Keep for later editing
- Publish Now: Post immediately
Duplicating from Analytics
You can also duplicate posts directly from the Analytics section:
- Go to Analytics for any platform
- Find a high-performing post in the post performance table
- Click the action menu for that post
- Select Duplicate
- The composer opens with that post’s content
This is great for recreating your best-performing content based on real engagement data.
