Filtering Posts by Status, Channel, and Category

Updated January 13, 2026

Viraly’s filtering system helps you find specific posts among your scheduled content. Filter by post status, social channel, or custom category to focus on exactly what you need.

Accessing Filters

The filters panel is available in the Calendar view:

  • Desktop: Right sidebar with “FILTERS” collapsible section
  • Mobile: Accessible via the filter menu button

Filters apply instantly when you select them—no need to click an “Apply” button.

Filtering by Status

Status filters help you find posts based on their current state. Posts are grouped into five filter categories:

FilterWhat It ShowsIcon
DraftUnpublished posts saved for laterDocument icon
Pending ApprovalPosts awaiting team approvalEye icon
ScheduledPosts scheduled for future publishingClock icon
PublishedSuccessfully published postsCheck circle icon
FailedPosts that failed to process or publishX circle icon

Using Status Filters

  1. Locate the “FILTERS” section in the sidebar
  2. Click the checkbox next to any status to filter
  3. The calendar immediately shows only matching posts
  4. Post count updates to show filtered results

Multiple Status Selection

You can select multiple statuses at once. For example, check both “Draft” and “Scheduled” to see all posts that aren’t yet published.

Filtering by Channel

Channel filters let you view posts for specific social profiles:

In Calendar View

  1. Look at the social profiles list in the left sidebar
  2. By default, “View All Social Profiles” shows posts from all channels
  3. Click specific profiles to filter to just those channels
  4. Select multiple profiles to see posts from several channels

Profile Display

Each profile in the list shows:

  • Profile picture
  • Platform badge (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Profile name
  • Status indicator (active, expired, or unavailable)

In Queue/List View

The Queue view uses a single-select dropdown instead:

  1. Click the “Switch Profile” dropdown in the header
  2. Select the profile you want to view
  3. The queue shows posts for that specific channel only

Filtering by Category

If you’ve organized posts with custom categories, you can filter by them:

  1. Scroll down in the Filters panel to find categories
  2. Categories appear with their assigned color dots
  3. Check one or more categories to filter
  4. Post counts show how many posts are in each category

Combining Multiple Filters

Filters work together using AND logic between different types:

How Combined Filters Work

  • Within same type (OR): “Draft OR Scheduled” shows both
  • Across types (AND): “Scheduled AND Instagram” shows only scheduled Instagram posts

Examples

Filter CombinationResult
Failed + All ChannelsAll failed posts across all platforms
Scheduled + InstagramOnly scheduled Instagram posts
Draft + “Marketing” categoryDraft posts tagged as Marketing
Published + Facebook + “Promotions”Published Facebook promotions

Post Count

The calendar header shows the current post count, updating in real-time as you apply filters. Format: “(X posts)”

Clearing Filters

To remove all active filters at once:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the Filters panel
  2. Click the “Clear All Filters” button
  3. All checkboxes are unchecked
  4. View returns to “All Social Profiles”
  5. Calendar shows all posts again

The “Clear All Filters” button only appears when at least one filter is active.

Clearing Individual Filters

To remove a single filter, simply click its checkbox again to deselect it.

Empty Results

If your filters return no posts, you’ll see a message: “No posts were found” with suggestions to adjust your filters or create new posts.
