Posting to Multiple Channels at Once

Updated January 13, 2026

Save time by posting to multiple social media platforms at once. Select the channels you want, write your content, and Viraly creates individual posts for each platform simultaneously.

Selecting Multiple Channels

When you open the post composer, you’ll see a row of circular icons representing your connected social profiles at the top of the form.

To select channels for posting:

  1. Click on each channel icon you want to include
  2. Click again to deselect a channel
  3. Select as many channels as you need

Each icon displays your profile picture with a small platform badge (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) in the corner. Hover over any icon to see the channel name.

Visual Selection Feedback

The channel selector provides clear visual feedback so you always know which platforms are selected:

StateAppearance
UnselectedGrayscale (black and white)
SelectedFull color with platform-colored outline
HoverColor preview (shows what selected looks like)

Selected channels display a colored outline matching their platform brand color — blue for Facebook, pink for Instagram, red for YouTube, and so on.

How Multi-Channel Posting Works

When you select multiple channels and schedule or publish your post, Viraly creates a separate post for each platform. Here’s what happens:

  1. Each channel gets its own post instance with platform-appropriate settings
  2. Your content is shared across all selected platforms
  3. All posts are submitted simultaneously
  4. Each post succeeds or fails independently

This means if one platform encounters an issue (like an expired connection), your other posts still go through. You can retry failed posts without affecting successful ones.

Platform-Specific Settings

While the main content is shared, each platform can have unique settings. For example:

  • Instagram: Choose between Post, Reel, or Story
  • YouTube: Set title, category, and privacy
  • Pinterest: Select the board to pin to

Previewing Different Platforms

The preview panel shows how your post will look on each selected platform:

  1. Look at the channel tabs in the left sidebar of the preview
  2. Click a tab to see that platform’s preview
  3. Switch between platforms to check how content appears on each

Each platform preview shows the accurate rendering for that network — Instagram shows the feed layout, Twitter shows the tweet format, and so on.

Platform Restrictions

Some platforms have special requirements or limitations:

X (Twitter)

  • Available on paid plans only
  • Limited to 10 posts per day
  • Error appears if limit exceeded: “Posting limit exceeded. You can post a maximum of 10 X posts for each day.”

Expired Connections

Channels with expired connections cannot be selected. You’ll see an error badge on the icon. Reconnect the profile from your social set settings to use it again.

Monthly Quota

Your plan includes a monthly post limit across all channels. When you reach the limit, you’ll see an upgrade prompt. Check your usage in your plan details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I customize content per platform?

The main content is shared across platforms, but each platform can have unique settings like post type, tags, or board selection. For completely different content per platform, create separate posts.

What happens if one platform fails?

Each platform posts independently. If one fails (due to an error or expired connection), the others still go through. Failed posts remain in the composer so you can fix the issue and retry.

Why don’t I see all my channels?

Only channels in your current social set appear. Make sure you’re viewing the correct social set, or add more profiles via Connect a Social Profile.

Is there a limit to how many channels I can select?

You can select all available channels in your social set. The practical limit is your monthly post quota, as each selected channel uses one post from your quota.
