Schedule content to Threads including text posts, images, videos, and carousels with up to 20 items. This guide covers the complete posting workflow, multi-post threads, and all Threads-specific features available in Viraly.
Creating a Threads Post
Follow these steps to create and schedule a Threads post in Viraly:
Step 1: Open the Post Composer
Open the post composer using any of these methods:
- Click Create Post in the sidebar
- Click the + button in the calendar header
- Click on any date in the calendar view
Step 2: Select Threads
Click the Threads icon at the top of the composer. Selected platforms appear in full color with a dark border, while unselected platforms are grayscale.
Step 3: Write Your Post
Enter your message in the text area. Threads allows up to 500 characters per post. The character counter shows how much space you have left.
Step 4: Add Media (Optional)
Enhance your post with media:
- Single Image: One photo
- Single Video: Up to 5 minutes
- Carousel: 2-20 mixed photos and videos
Drag and drop files, click to select, or choose from your Media Library.
Important: Threads only accepts JPEG and PNG formats for images. WebP and other formats are not supported.
Step 5: Add More Posts to Thread (Optional)
For longer content, click Add Reply to create a multi-post thread. Each post in the thread can have its own text and media. See Multi-Post Threads below for details.
Step 6: Schedule Your Post
Click Schedule Post to set a date and time, or use the dropdown menu for other publishing options.

Text Posts
Text-only posts that appear in the Threads feed.
- Character Limit: 500 characters
- Links are clickable
- Hashtags and mentions supported
Image Posts
Single image with caption.
- File Size: Max 8MB
- Width: 360-1440px
- Formats: JPEG, PNG only
Video Posts
Video content that plays in the Threads feed.
- Duration: 1 second – 5 minutes
- File Size: Max 1GB
- Formats: MP4, MOV only
Carousel Posts
Multi-item posts that viewers can swipe through.
- Item Count: 2-20 items
- Content: Mixed photos and videos
- Photo Size: Max 8MB per photo
- Video Size: Max 1GB per video
Upload 2 or more media files and Viraly automatically creates a carousel post.

Multi-Post Threads
For longer content, create multi-post threads—connected posts that appear as a conversation:
- Create your first post as normal
- Click Add Reply to add another post to the thread
- Each reply can have its own text (500 chars) and media
- Add as many replies as you need
- Schedule the entire thread to publish together
Thread Features
- Each post has its own 500 character limit
- Each post can have different media attachments
- Editing the source post updates all linked posts
- You can reorder posts before publishing
- Delete individual posts from the thread if needed
Note: Creating multi-post threads requires an Influencer plan or higher.
Additional Features
Categories
Organize your posts with color-coded categories for easy filtering and management in Viraly.
- Click + Category to assign a category
- Select from existing categories or create new ones
- Choose custom colors for each category
Recycle Posts
Automatically repost evergreen content on a recurring schedule.
- Toggle Recycle to enable
- Set the recycle interval (e.g., 60 days)
- Choose an end date for recycling
- Enable Content Variations to rotate different captions
Shorten URLs
Toggle Shorten URLs to automatically shorten links in your post. This helps with tracking link clicks and keeping posts clean.
Scheduling Options
After creating your post, choose how to publish it:
