Connect your Threads profile to Viraly to schedule posts, create threaded replies, and track your engagement metrics. Threads is Meta’s text-based social platform, and connecting it takes just a few clicks.
Before You Connect
Before connecting your Threads profile to Viraly, make sure you:
- Have an active Threads account — You need an existing Threads profile linked to your Instagram account
- Are logged into Threads — Viraly will connect to the Threads profile currently logged in on your browser. Log into the correct profile before starting
- Have a Viraly account — You need an active Viraly subscription
Connection Steps
Step 1: Open Social Sets
From your Viraly dashboard, navigate to My Social Sets in the top-right user dropdown menu. Click on the social set where you want to add your TikTok account, or create a new social set.
Step 2: Add a Threads Channel
Click the + New Social Profile button and select TikTok from the list of available platforms.
Step 3: Review Connection Information
An information dialog will appear explaining the connection process:
- You can connect multiple Threads profiles to Viraly
- Viraly will connect to the profile currently logged in on your browser
- If you’re not logged in, you’ll be prompted to log in first
Click Authenticate with Threads to proceed.
Step 4: Authorize on Threads
You’ll be redirected to the Threads authorization page. Here you’ll see the permissions Viraly is requesting:
- Basic profile access — View your profile information
- Publish content — Post and schedule content on your behalf
- Manage replies — Create and manage threaded replies
- View insights — Access your analytics and engagement metrics
Review the permissions and click Allow to authorize Viraly.
Step 5: Select Your Profile
After authorization, you’ll be redirected back to Viraly. The account picker will show your Threads profile. Select the profile you want to connect and click Connect.
Step 6: Connection Complete
Your Threads profile is now connected! You’ll be returned to your social set where you can see the newly connected profile.
After Connecting
Once your Threads profile is connected, you can:
- Schedule posts — Create and schedule Threads posts for future publishing
- Create threaded replies — Build multi-post threads with the Add Reply feature (requires Influencer plan)
- View analytics — Track views, likes, replies, reposts, and follower growth
- Manage media — Share images, videos, and carousels with your posts
Threads Post Features
When creating posts for Threads, you have access to:
- Text posts — Up to 500 characters per post
- Image posts — Single images with captions
- Video posts — Video content with optional captions
- Carousel posts — Multiple images or videos in one post
- Link previews — Automatic URL preview cards
- Threaded replies — Chain multiple posts together (Influencer plan)
Managing Connected Profiles
Viewing Profile Status
Go to Social Sets to see all your connected Threads profiles. Each profile shows its connection status and any required actions.
Refreshing Connection
If your Threads connection expires or needs reauthorization, you’ll see a notification on the profile and you will also get notified by e-mail. Click the profile and select Refresh Connection to re-authenticate.
Disconnecting a Profile
To remove a Threads profile from Viraly:
- Go to My Social Sets
- Click on the social set containing the profile
- Click the three-dot menu on the Threads profile
- Select Disconnect Profile
- Confirm the removal
Note: Disconnecting a profile will cancel any scheduled posts for that profile.
Troubleshooting
Connection Failed
If the connection fails:
- Check your Threads login — Make sure you’re logged into the correct Threads account in your browser
- Clear browser cache — Try clearing your cookies and cache, then attempt connection again
- Use a different browser — Some browser extensions can interfere with OAuth. Try a private/incognito window
- Check Threads status — Verify that Threads services are operational
“Add Reply” is Locked
The threaded replies feature requires the Influencer plan or higher. If you see a locked icon on the Add Reply button, upgrade your subscription to access this feature.
Analytics Not Available
If you don’t see analytics for your Threads profile:
- Check permissions — Ensure you granted the “View insights” permission during connection
- Reconnect the profile — Try disconnecting and reconnecting to refresh permissions
- Wait for data — Analytics may take some time to appear after initial connection
Profile Shows Wrong Account
If Viraly connected the wrong Threads account:
- Remove the incorrectly connected profile from Viraly
- Log out of Threads in your browser
- Log into the correct Threads account
- Start the connection process again in Viraly
Account Shows as Unavailable
If your Threads profile shows as “Unavailable” in the account picker, it means the profile is already connected to either this or another Viraly account. Each Threads profile can only be connected to one Viraly account.
