Time slots define when your queued posts will be published. Instead of manually selecting a date and time for each post, you can set up recurring time slots and simply add posts to your queue. Viraly automatically assigns each queued post to the next available slot.
Accessing Time Slot Settings
To configure posting time slots:
- Navigate to the List view in the Scheduler
- Click Configure Posting Slots or access via channel settings
- The Posting Slots page opens with a grid showing all configured slots
Adding Time Slots
To add a new posting slot:
- Select the frequency from the dropdown (e.g., “Every Day”, “Weekdays”)
- Choose the hour (1-12)
- Choose the minute (00-59)
- Select AM or PM
- Click the Add button (plus icon)
The slot appears in the grid under the appropriate day(s). The text above the controls reads “Add new posting slot(s) for [frequency] at [time]” to confirm your selection.
Time Format
Times are displayed in 12-hour format (e.g., “2:30 PM”) but stored internally in 24-hour format. The time pickers show padded values (“01” through “12” for hours, “00” through “59” for minutes).
Frequency Options
Choose how often a slot should repeat:

For example, selecting “Weekdays” at 9:00 AM creates slots for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9:00 AM.
Editing and Removing Slots
Editing a Slot
- Click on any time slot in the grid
- A popover opens with a time picker
- Adjust the hours and minutes
- Click Change to apply or Cancel to discard
Removing a Single Slot
- Hover over the time slot you want to remove
- A trash icon appears on the right side
- Click the trash icon to remove that slot
Clearing All Slots
To remove all configured slots at once, click the Clear All button (trash icon) at the top of the page. This removes every slot for this channel.
Auto-Generate Slots
Viraly can automatically generate optimal posting times based on how many posts you want to publish per day:
- Click the Generate New Slots button (lightning bolt icon)
- A dialog asks: “How many posts per day do you want to publish?”
- Enter a number between 1 and 10
- Click Generate Slots
- Preview the generated slots
- Modify if needed, then save
Generated slots are spaced throughout the day at optimal engagement times. You can manually adjust them before saving.
Saving Your Configuration
After configuring your slots:
- Review the grid to confirm your schedule
- Click Save to apply changes
- A confirmation message appears: “Posting slots have successfully updated.”
The Save button is disabled until you make changes. Click Cancel to return without saving.
Duplicate Prevention
Viraly automatically prevents duplicate slots. If you try to add a slot with the same day and time as an existing slot, it will be silently ignored.
