Using the List/Queue View

Updated January 8, 2026

The list view organizes your posts around posting time slots. See scheduled content grouped by date, configure when posts go out, and manage your queue efficiently.

List View Overview

The list view presents your scheduled posts in a queue format, organized by date and time slot. Unlike the calendar’s visual grid, the list view focuses on your posting schedule and when content will go out.

What You’ll See

  • Date headers — Posts grouped under “Today,” “Tomorrow,” or the day name with date
  • Time slots — Your configured posting times with scheduled posts
  • Empty slots — Clickable placeholders where you can add posts
  • Post details — Channel, content preview, status, and attachments

The header shows the title “X Optimal Posting Times” with a description of how the platform’s optimal times work for engagement.

The list view uses pagination to show a range of days at a time:

Pagination Controls

  • Previous [X] days — Move backward through time
  • Next [X] days — Move forward through time
  • Date range label — Click to open a custom date picker

Days Per Page

Use the Show: dropdown to change how many days appear at once:

  • 7 days
  • 14 days (default)
  • 21 days
  • 30 days

Your selection is saved automatically for future visits.

Custom Date Range

Click the date range label to open the date picker dialog. Enter a Start Date and End Date to view a specific period. Click Clear Dates to return to standard pagination.

Understanding Time Slots

Time slots define when posts from your queue will be published. Each slot represents a specific time on specific days when Viraly will send out content.

Filled Slots

When a post is scheduled for a time slot, you’ll see the post details including content preview, status badge, and any attached media.

Empty Slots

Empty slots appear as clickable placeholders. Hover to see “Click to schedule a post for this day” and click to open the post composer with that time pre-filled.

Custom-Scheduled Posts

Posts scheduled outside your defined time slots show a Custom indicator with a clock icon. These posts publish at their specific scheduled time rather than a queue slot.

Configuring Posting Slots

Set up your posting schedule by configuring time slots for each social profile:

  1. Click the settings link or navigate to the posting slots settings
  2. Select which days this slot applies to:
    • Every Day — Posts on all days
    • Weekdays — Monday through Friday
    • Weekends — Saturday and Sunday
    • Individual days — Select specific days
  3. Set the time using the hour, minute, and AM/PM pickers
  4. Click the + button to add more slots
  5. Save your changes

To remove a slot, click the trash icon next to it.

No Slots Configured

If a social profile has no posting slots set up, you’ll see a yellow warning banner: “No Posting Slots Configured” with a link to configure them.

Generating Optimized Slots

Let Viraly create time slots based on optimal posting times for your platform:

  1. Click Generate Optimized Posting Slots (bolt icon)
  2. Enter how many posts per day you want to publish (1-10)
  3. Click Generate Slots
  4. Review the generated slots
  5. Save to apply

Important: Generating new slots will reschedule existing queued posts to the new times. Posts with custom-scheduled times (outside slots) are not affected.

Post Actions

Each post in the list has action buttons based on its status. For full details on what each status means and its available actions, see Understanding Post Statuses.

Common Actions

  • Edit — Open the post for editing (pencil icon)
  • Schedule Post — Set a publish time (drafts)
  • Publish Now — Post immediately (scheduled posts)
  • View Post — Open on social platform (published posts)
  • Duplicate — Create a copy of the post
  • Delete — Remove the post

Approval Posts

Posts pending approval show progress (“X of Y approved”) and display who requested approval. Approvers see Approve and Reject buttons with optional comment fields.

Selecting a Profile

The list view requires selecting a specific social profile to display its queue:

  1. Click the Switch Profile dropdown in the header
  2. Select the social profile you want to manage
  3. The queue updates to show that profile’s posting slots and scheduled posts

If you’re viewing “All Social Profiles,” you’ll see a prompt to select a specific profile to access the queue.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between list view and calendar view?

The list view focuses on time slot management and shows posts in a queue format. The calendar view provides a visual month/week grid for scheduling overview. Use list view when managing your posting queue and calendar view for planning content across weeks.

Why don’t I see any time slots?

Time slots are configured per social profile. If you see a warning about no posting slots, go to the settings page and configure your desired posting times. You can also use the “Generate Optimized Slots” feature to auto-create slots.

Can I drag posts to reorder them?

The list view doesn’t support drag-and-drop reordering. To reschedule a post, edit it and change the scheduled time, or use the calendar view which supports drag-and-drop rescheduling.

What happens to existing posts when I regenerate slots?

When you generate new optimized posting slots, existing queued posts are rescheduled to fit the new times. Posts with custom-scheduled times (scheduled outside your slots) remain unchanged.

Can I filter posts by status in list view?

The list view has limited filtering focused on channel selection and date range. For full status and category filtering, use the calendar view which has a complete filters panel.

Why do I need to select a profile?

Posting slots are configured per social profile, so the list view needs to know which profile’s queue to display. Each profile can have different posting times optimized for that platform.
