Viraly uses a hierarchical structure to organize your social media accounts: Workspaces contain Social Sets, which contain Social Profiles. This guide explains how these layers work together to help you manage multiple brands, clients, or projects.
The Viraly Hierarchy
Viraly organizes your account in three levels:
Workspace
├── Social Set 1 (e.g., "Personal Brand")
│ ├── Instagram Profile
│ ├── TikTok Account
│ └── Twitter/X Account
├── Social Set 2 (e.g., "Business")
│ ├── Facebook Page
│ ├── LinkedIn Page
│ └── YouTube Channel
└── Team Members (workspace-wide access)
Understanding Workspaces
Your workspace is the top-level container for your entire Viraly account. It holds all your social sets, social profiles, and team members.
When you create a Viraly account, a workspace is automatically created for you. Most users only need one workspace, but you can create additional workspaces for completely separate accounts (like personal vs. work).
Viewing Your Workspace
To view your workspace settings:
- Click your workspace name in the top-right corner
- Select Account Settings
- Click My Workspace in the left sidebar

Editing Your Workspace Name
To change your workspace name:
- Go to Account Settings → My Workspace
- Click the Edit button
- Enter a new name (maximum 40 characters)
- Click Save
Note: Only workspace owners can edit workspace settings.
Understanding Social Sets
A Social Set is a group of related social profiles within your workspace. Think of it as a folder for organizing your accounts by brand, client, or project.
Why Use Social Sets?
Social sets help you:
- Organize by brand — Keep your personal and business accounts separate
- Manage clients — Agencies can create a social set per client
- Control access — Assign team members to specific social sets
- Set timezones — Each social set can have its own posting timezone
Viewing Your Social Sets
To view all your social sets:
- Click your workspace name in the top-right corner
- Select My Social Sets
You’ll see all your social sets with their color badges, names, and the number of connected profiles.

Note: Team members are only available on Business, Agency, and Enterprise plans.

Restricting Access to Social Sets
When inviting team members, you can:

- Restrict to specific sets — They only see and work with selected social sets
This is useful for agencies where each team member manages different clients.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I move a social profile to a different social set?
Currently, you cannot move social profiles between social sets. You would need to disconnect the profile and reconnect it to the new social set. Any scheduled posts for that profile would remain with the original set.
How many social sets can I create?
There’s no hard limit on the number of social sets you can create. However, the total number of social profiles across all sets is limited by your plan.
What happens if I delete a social set?
Deleting a social set will also delete all social profiles connected to it and any scheduled posts. You’ll see a warning listing all profiles that will be deleted before confirming. You must have at least one social set in your workspace.
Can team members create new social sets?
Team members with the appropriate permissions can create new social sets. However, they can only access social sets they’ve been granted permission to use.
Do social sets affect my analytics?
Analytics are tracked per social profile, not per social set. When you view analytics, you select a specific profile to see its metrics. The social set grouping is just for organization.
What’s the difference between a workspace and a social set?
A workspace is your entire Viraly account — it contains everything. A social set is a way to organize profiles within that workspace. Think of it like this: your workspace is your office, and social sets are filing cabinets that organize your profiles by category.
